ABOUT PLANET B
Planet B is, at its core, a music label founded by Bitschu Batschu, but it is also a
visual universe and a belief system that manifests the vision and aesthetics behind
his sound. It blends early-2000s nostalgia with the pulse of modern club and
trance culture. Bitschu Batschu sees it as his mission to connect people around
the world through this music. Just like in the early 2000s, when the first
demonstrations against the system used trance to unite people dancing for
freedom and equality, Planet B carries forward that spirit.
In a time marked by war and injustice, he aims to create a space where people can
freely express their emotions, where everyone can be themselves, where no one is
judged, and where origins don’t matter. What matters is being part of a shared
musical and emotional journey, raising collective awareness that everyone
deserves freedom and equality.
Planet B is a parallel reality, and music is the portal. Anyone who feels the rhythm
is already a citizen.
Planet B is another dimension hidden within this world. It isn’t about running away,
but about creating space for emotions to flow freely and be expressed openly. It is
about connection, because we exist on this planet together. With trance, its
basslines and melodies that stay in your mind, a crowd can quickly form a shared
dynamic that makes each person feel part of something larger. Just as in the early
2000s, music brings people together beyond sexuality, background, or gender.
Planet B is a place where individuality and togetherness coexist. We unite to stand
against the injustices of the system, not with weapons, but with solidarity,
emotional openness, mutual support, and a deep love for music.
Anyone who wants to be is.
It should feel like the freedom you had as a child: that feeling of endless possibility,
where life felt wide open. Many people today long for the simplicity and ease of
childhood or teenage years. Planet B taps into that spirit by creating a space
where you can live fully and feel free without harming anyone.
The inhabitants of Planet B are people who want to be part of a movement rooted
in collective strength, shared vulnerability, and the pursuit of freedom we all
deserve. Trance transcends generations. The nostalgia older generations feel
becomes a bridge to the present, creating something timeless.
Lil B is your imaginary friend, the stuffed toy that never left your side. This little
planet with hands, feet, and a face is the voice inside you that guides you, makes
you think, and leads you forward. He is your heart and your unfolding emotions. Lil
B is a resident of Planet B, but also the soul of every single citizen. He visualizes
the freedom we had as children and shows us the way back to it. He embodies the
spirit of the place.
Planet B’s sound brings nostalgia into the present and pushes it toward the future.
We want to support artists who share the same principles as we do and who
authentically reinterpret old elements from earlier times and combine them with
their own sound. People who appreciate where this music comes from are warmly
invited to be part of it, and those who don't yet know are warmly invited to explore
trance music, the sounds, and its origins together with all citizens of Planet B.
The sounds enliven the room with an energy that conveys freedom and a feeling of
joy. The music fills the room with energy, freedom, and joy. The melodies stay with
you long after, holding onto you with their frequencies.
Modern trance and club culture would not exist without the foundations laid back
then. Trance is having a resurgence, but for Bitschu Batschu it has never been a
trend. He has loved this music for over 20 years, it was his first love, and that love
only grows. Planet B works to revive and reinterpret the emotions of that first love.
Human desires haven’t changed: people still search for freedom, safety, adventure,
and a space to express emotions openly.
Technology may have advanced, but it hasn’t solved the deeper issues. that's why
most people today, regardless of their age, are still searching for freedom, security,
adventure, and a space where they can freely express their emotions. The
connection is already there. Planet B simply makes it visible and helps people feel
it again.
The visual language of Planet B mixes ASCII art, early 2000s trance-flyer
aesthetics, and pixelated Winamp energy. It draws inspiration from the beginnings
of 3D spaces, early GameCube graphics, simple animations made for trance
music, and the playful digital worlds of the era.
Planet B is a portal back to emotions we thought we’d lost: the thrill of your first
burned CD, the spark of sending a late-night “<3.” It is a living laboratory of sound,
art, and community, a secret society disguised as a music label. Its visuals revealthe childlike joy inside each of us while merging early-2000s aesthetics with
today’s style.
The lightness of being shapes the visual identity of Planet B.
In 2004, I was at a spiritual event with my parents, and one day I was feeling a bit
bored, so I started talking to an older girl. She had her CD player with her, and I
wanted to know what kind of music she listened to, so she showed me some
trance and hands-up music from back then. On the next day she handed me a a
simple homemade CD that became pure magic to me. The very moment I pressed
play, something lit up inside me. It wasn’t just music for me it felt like a portal.
Trance was my very first love, the kind of love that doesn’t fade, only grows deeper
with every heartbeat, kick and melody.the kind that doesn’t fade. Even today, when
I listen or create, I become that carefree child again: no worries, no limits, just pure
energy. Those melodies, rhythms, and harmonies completely captivated me.
I don’t prepare sets in detail. I usually listen to the last 20 minutes of the DJ before
me and observe the crowd’s energy. Based on their reactions, I mentally shape the
opening direction of my set. Even back when my friends and I were still going to a
lot of house parties, I was usually responsible for the music, as I always had a
good sense of what kind of music was right for the situation.
I usually have a few ideas about how to start best, or I test out newly produced
tracks as opening tracks. So it often appears that one of the first tracks of my set
are music that I produced on the way to the gig. I love testing fresh sounds and
reading the crowd’s response to refine my ideas.
I am influenced by many different things. Of course, by the trance music of the
early 2000s and also a lot by hands-up music from 2004 to 2014. These
harmonizing sounds and frequencies always fascinated me. In addition, these
strong and evil lead sounds with their simple but incredibly good melodies make
my heart beat faster. But I also draw inspiration from classical music, jazz, folk, hip
hop, reggae, trap, reggaeton, and hardstyle. I hear love in every genre. Nature
influences me deeply, moments of quiet help me recharge from daily stress and
return with new ideas. And, of course, not to forget the melodies that come into my
girlfriend's mind or appear to me in the shower, which we then immediately
produce together.
I want my music to transport people into a parallel universe where they can live out
their emotions freely. I want them to remember their childhood, reconnect with joy,
and feel their inner child awaken. Many people have thanked and told me after
sets that it gave them exactly the feeling of being pulled back into the past and
their youth. Their inner child has been awakened and pleased by the trance
sounds of yesterday and today. I hope that I can touch people with my music.
Even if many believe that Trance is just „bum bum“, to me it is an attitude towards
life. I want to pass on this feeling of love, respect, and unity.
